In the Dark of Night

In the Dark of Night

Dusk settled over the town. Tiny jack-o-lanterns glowed, lighting the way to the Haunted House at the edge of town. A buzz of excitement filled the air. One by one, the costumed ghouls and goblins made their way up the dark, twisted path that led to the Haunted House. An eerie glow could be seen from the road. Suddenly, a creaky door slammed shut, a loud scream, “Happy Halloween!”. Cast in shadow and cobwebs, the house on the hill sat dark and vacant for three hundred and sixty-four days a year. On Halloween night, it awoke to see the children.
